Suits, supervisor of the Cascade national forest, has received infor mation by wire from the depart ment at Washington that $10,000 of the 170,000 promised for the im provement of the road over the summit of the mountains by way of the McKenzie pass is now available. It will be here in a short time, but the actuul work of improvement will not begin until next summer, when the winter snows will have disappeared.
