Cursey will have a prelim inary hearing in a few days. The following telegram from Bend gives the details of the case: Bend, Or., Sept. 8 In charge of Deputy Sheriff J. H. Wenandy, W. D. Cursey, defaulting hotel keeper, arrived here last night from Missoula, Mont., where he was arrested Wednesday. Crook county authoiities had been on his trail for a week, and finally ' arrested him in the Montana City when he was met at the train by his wife. Deputy Sher iff Wenandy was in Portland, where he saw Mrs. Cursey. When he learned that she was leaving the city with a ticket for Missoula, he wired the chief of police there, and Cursey's arrest followed. Cursey and his wife came here last fall, and this spring he leased two hotels and undertook to cut a wide swath. He ran heavily into debt, it is said, and about the middle of July left for parts unknown. Before he did this however, he is known to have harrowed money from several persons here, several hundred dollars in all, and it is also alleged that he cashed some worthless checks.
