Harold Charlton came, out Friday
for a few days' visit with home
folks. Harold is attending IhkIi
school at Prinevillo.
Mr. Allen Willcoxen went to
I'rineville Monday for a short visit
with Mr. A. E. Hussett and family.
Mrs. A. W. Hayn returned from
Prineville Monday, where she has
been the past week nursing her
daughters, Gladys and Hu.ol, who
have been quite ill. Mrs- Hayn re
ports Gladys as improving but says
Hazel is not doing so nicely. We
ho to see her out again soon.

Earl Saunders ond wife are the
proud parents of a fine' baby girl,
which arrived at their home re
cently with the avowed intention of
taking up her permanent residence.
Mr. Wallace Smith entertained
a few of her friends at a delightful
five hundred party at her home Sat
urday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Sharp and
family, who have been visiting the
past week at the Truesdule home,
left Tuesday for Walla Walla,
Wash., where they will visit Mr.
Sharp's relative before returning
to their home at 'Grand Junction,
Colo.
Miss Ida Charlton has been an
. inmate of the Charlton home for
the past week, employed to nurse
Mrs. Saunders and the new baby
E, A. Bussett has been suffering
for the past ten days with a severe
case of la grippe and neuralgia. '
Geo. Ilobbs butchored a hog re
cently that tipped the scales at five
hundred and twenty-five pounds.
We call that going some.
S. D. Mustard took a load of
hogs to Prineville Tuesday.
QA number of farmers from the
Redmond vicinity are hauling straw
from out our way. In some in
stances the straw is given away as
we have more than can be con
sumed here.

Paulina Notes.
Andrew Bernard, Gumle Delore
and Leon Farrat of Suplee were
transacting business in Paulina Mon
day. Gm Georganson and Carl Lander
came In from the sawmill on Beaver
creek Monday, where they have
been cutting log for the mill.
' Mack Cornett of Prineville was
in Paulina Tuesday.
Mr. A. Piatt left for Prineville
Tuesday. She has been visiting
with Mr. K. Campbell.
I. M. Midland on, Orrin, were
in Paulina Sunday on their way to
Prineville.
The young people of Paulina met
at the home of Grant Miller and
siient a very pleasant evening.
There wre about twenty-five pres
ent. Refreshments, consisting of
Ice cream and cake were served.
T. II. Hrennan returned Monday
from Portland. He disposed of his
bunch of beef steer In the Portland
market at a good figure.
Jack Summer of Prineville and
I'M Nelson of Post were in Paulina
Thursday repairing the telephone
lines.
Iwis Throop went to Prineville
Friday. Ho will be at the county
seat for some time.
Mrs. T. H. Brennan came up
from Prineville Sunday. After a
few days at her home she will visit
with her sister, Mrs. Floyd Gilchrist,
of Suplee.
The Misses May and Anna Mc-
Cullough of Prineville are visiting
at the home of M. L. Brown.
There will be a drama at the Pau
lina hall during February. The
cast of characters will be given next
week.

Mr. and Mr. A. Merchant went
to Madras on business last Monday.
A number of farmer attended
the Farmer' Union at Culver Feb
ruary 8. They report a very good
meeting.
Several of the boys from this
neighborhood have joined the band
at Culver. They are planning to
give the play, "Tompkings' Hired
Man," in the near future. This is
an exceedingly entertaining play.
Mrs. George Osborn visited rela
tives and frientls in Madras last
week. Little Lorene Wright re
turned home with her.
Jim Read and wife were shopping
in Madras Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. George Rodman
entertained a party of young people
in honor of their daughter. Ivy.
it was Miss Ivy' fourteenth birth
day. She received a number of
nice presents. ,
Winfred Osborn left for a week'
visit to Morgan, Sherman county.
Messrs. Dow and Elvas Dobkins
have taken their traction engine to
Juke Harvingtons, where they will
pull down juniper trees.
Floyd Dobkins and Arthur Thomp
son will give a dance in Culver
February 28. Everyone is cordial

Mrs. Carl Windom, who injured
her ankle very severely while coast
ing some time ago, is slowly im
proving. . J. Z. Keeney and wife left Satur
day for their home in Bellingham,
