I The Crook County High School is j asked to enter a team in the third j annual Pacific coast inter-scholastic meet to be held on the Uni'ersity of California oval, April 4 and 5. Elaborate plans are now under way for the entertainment of students. Any high school student under the age of 21 who is vouched for by his high school principal is eligible for entry. Charley Summers Submarine Man Charley Summers will be home this month. He is now attached to the submarine division of Uncle Sam's Navy. He is a member of the crew U. S. S. No. 3, stationed at San Diego. He is in the elec trical department. While at San Diego Charley visited the home of Richard Graham, an old Crook coun ty family. The old gentleman want ed to send word to his friends here that he had not tasted whisky in 25 years. While here he could not taste anything without it. He got the highest price paid for atocli last week in the Portland market. The market was a little overstocked at the time, but the buyer reports that there is "no good reason why prime cattle, such as come from the Prineville country, should not com' mand steady prices." Crook County High Defeats The Dalles The basketball team made a trip to The Dalles last week where they met the fast team of the high school of that place in two games. Our team was composed of new men, with the exception of one player, yet under the efficient coaching of Sam Ellis has developed into a remarkably fast one. lhey sum ceeded in winning both games by the following scores 37-29. 22-19. Thus they have maintained the rec ord of the school, since our basket ball team has never been defeated. The line up : Yancey, center; Kates, O'Neil, forwards; Mct'allister, Weig and, guards.
