Davis of Howard were granted the necessary papers Saturday to become man and wife. Mrs. Garfield and Chase Garfield, mother and brother of Mrs. Carey W. Foster, left Saturday for their home in Walla Walla. Mrs. R. A. Ford left Tuesday with her son. Will, and wife for the John Day valley. She will spend the winter on the ranch near Day ville. Mrs. Alex Thomson and mother, Mrs. Huston, left today for Port land. Mrs. Huston has sold her place to Alex Davenport. She will spend the winter in the Willamette valley. The Crook County High School football team defeated the high school boys from Bend Saturday by a score of 14 to 0. The game was called at the end of the third quarter so that the boys could reach Redmond in time to catch the train home. John South and family of Inde pendence arrived in Prineville this week. He crossed the mountains by the Santiam route. He had a hard time of it. Between two and three feet of snow was encountered. He is looking for a location in this country. The high school contest last Fri day evening resulted in a victory for the Ochoconians. This is the second time they have won the ban ner. Miss Leola Estes won first place over contestants in all depart ments. Mabel Slayton took first in the dramatic and Clarence Bixby first in the oratorical. The dinner that was advertised to be given on election day and pro ceeds to be applied to the M. W. A. band's instrument fund, has been postponed until a later date. How ever, the ladies will serve you Sat urday at Kamstra's store with all kinds of good things to eat. The boys will be on hand with their usual concert Saturday evening at 7:30.
