Mr. Erickson has been per sistent in the face of great discour agement, but when he had to haul water from Powell Butte it was worth while to take a long chance, and he won. Water was struck at 500 feet. It was solid rock all the way. The well drillers tried toj pump it dry, but could not. The normal height of the water is 40 feet The mere fact tnat water can be found on the flat will be a great thing for that section, where it had to be hauled from Powell Butte. A pump and gasoline engine will be put in at once. Andrew Nohle Has a Fine Place l'ijj grunge dinner at the hall Sept S. Light showers delayed the thiesh ir.g some this week. Mr. and Mrs. W. K.
