Home-Grown Vege
tables in Market
Thia has been a great spring for
early vegetables tn Crook county.
Otto RadlotT. who has a place on
Comb's Flat, a few miles south of
Prineville, is bringing in the finest
radishes, lettuce, onions, asiaragus,
spinach and rape that can be grown
on this little globe. He has just
two acres that he gives over to
truck gardening, but the quantity
of stuff he raises and sells would
astonish you and he can not half
supply the demand. Otto has the
imported vegetables faded a mile
when it comes to quality. This is
the best year he has seen in the
fifteen he has been in this country.
His garden stuff grew all winter
without protection of any kind.
Would that we had more like him
in this country.
