Petition for county road by R. A.
Merchant et al. This matter coming
on regularly to be heard this 4th day of
January, 1612, the same having been
continued from the November, 1911,
term of this court. It is ordered by
the court that the board of county road
viewers be and they are hereby in
structed to proceed to lay out said
road, and it is ordered that the viewers
be and are hereby ordered to meet on
the 19th day of February, 1912, or
within five days thereafter, to survey,
view and lay out said road.
Petition for county road by H. E.
Melton et al. It appearing from the
opinion of the district attorney that all
papers are regular and in accordance
with the statute, it is ordered that the
board of road viewers meet at the be
ginning of said proposed road on the
23d day of February, 1!)12, view, re
view and survey the proposed road and
report thereon at the next term of this
court.
Petition for franchise for Cove Power
' Co. It appearing to the court that the
Cove Power Co. is preparing to furnish
power for all purposes to Metolius,
Prineville, Redmond and to all other
persons and places requiring same and
that it is necessary for said company
to have a franchise, easement and
right of way for the erection and main
tenance of the necessary poles and
wires along either outer line of county
roads from the Cove Power Co.'s plant
situated upon sec. 11, tp. 12 south,
range 12 east, W. M., to Metolius,
from Metolius to Prineville; from
Metolius to Redmond, from Redmond
to Prineville, with authority to cross
county roads when necessary. It is
ordered that a franchise and easement
be granted.
County printing for 1912. It satis
factorily appearing to the court, by
affidavits as to circulation within Crook
county and otherwise, thut under sec
tion 29D2, Lord's- Oregon Laws, the
Crook County Journal is entitled to be
designated as the official county paper
for the ensuing year. It is therefore
ordered that said Crook County Journal
be and the same is hereby designated
as such official county paper for the
year 1912, under the terms and condi
tions as embodied in its bid, which said
bid is in words and figures as
to-wit:

the year 1912: To print the proceed
ings of the court and all official notices
of county officers during said period of
time for the sum of f350 for the year,
payable in amounts of $58.33 at each

Petition for county road by Roy L.
Kidder et al. Now is presented to the
court the petition of Walter Ruble et
al, for county road, accompanied by a
bond of 100 with T. W. Taylor as
surety, and it appearing by the opinion
of the district attorney that all papers
are regular and in accordance with the
statute, it is ordered that the board of
road viewers meet at the beginning of
said proposed road on the 21st day of
February, 1912, view, review and sur-
,vey said proposed road and report
thereon at the next term of this court.

Whereas, it has been necessary to re
turn certain parole convicts, to-wit,
Dick Garrett and Chick White to the
penitentiary, and whereas, Crook coun
ty and its citizens have been put to
unnecessary expense, it is therefore
ordered that the sheriff of Crook coun
ty send an itemized statement of such
expenses to the proper officials at
Salem, Oregon, and request that pay
ment thereof be made forthwith.
These items to include special officers,
transportation charges, telephone,
board of prisoners, justice's costs and
all other items.
Wrongful assessment of W. S. Kar
ris. It appearing to the court that W.
b. f arris has been wrongfully assessed
for the year 1910 for the sum of $5.21,
and that the sheriff under the pro
visions of the statute, has remitted the
same from the total amount of his
taxes, to wit, $01.45, it is hereby or
dered that the county clerk credit the
sheriff on the 1910 tax roll with said
3.21.
Fair Acres' addition to Redmond.
Now is presented to the court the plat
and tracing of Fair Acres' addition to
Redmond, and upon the application of
W. S. Rodman et ux, owner of the
land platted therein, and it satisfactor
ily appearing to the court that said
plat and tracing, etc., have complied
with the law, they are hereby approved
by the court and spread of record.
Drawing jury for 1912. The names
of 200 taxpayers, qualified to serve as ;
jurors during the ensuing year were !

November and December supervisors'
reports. Owing to the lack of road
funds it is ordered that the matter of
approving the supervisors' accounts for '
November and December be continued
until the adjourned meeting hereof to
be held in February, 1912.

Bear creek road. It is ordered that

Bear creek road at the earliest possible
moment.
County aid. A petition has been
presented setting out the needy cir
cumstances of Mrs. Atwater. It is
ordered that Commissioner Bailey
forthwith inquire into her circum
stances and give whatever aid may an.
pear necessary.
Watering place at Crooked river
bridge. Petition of C. E. Cross et al,
residents upon the plat southwest of
Prineville, asking that the county court
cause a watering place to be main
tained at the Crooked river bridge.
It is therefore ordered that this court
forthwith personally investigate the
situation and determine whether or not'
such watering place is practical and
can be obtained.
