Crime Rampant in Night
Spokane, Wash. In the eight hours
from 6 o'clock Saturday evening to
2 o'clock Sunday morning, 13 crimes
were committed in Spokane, the
heaviest record in this city in years.
Labor Leaders Called.
San Francisco. Subpenas have been
received here by United States Mar
shal Elliott for O. A. Tveitmoe and
Anton Johannsen, local labor leaders,
wanted as witnesses in -Los Angeles
by the federal grand Jury investigat
ing the Times dynamiting case.
NEW YORK WELCOMES
WESTERN GOVERNORS
New York. The Waldorf-Astoria
was decorated Sunday in honor of
the Western Governors and others of
their party arriving from Philadel
phia. American and state flag3
whipped the breeze of the Fifth Ave
nue and Thirty-fourth Street sides of
the big hotel. The flags shown were
those of California, North and South
Dakota, Wyoming, Nevada, Oregon,
Idaho, Montana, Minnesota, Colorado,
and Waahirgton.
t The eight governors now with the
party are: Carey of Wyoming, Oddie
of Nevada, Vessey of South Dakota,
Hawley of Idaho, Burke of North Da
kota, West of Oregon, Norrls of Mon
tana, Eberhart of .Minnesota.
The governors, who are traveling
about the country principally to ad
yertise their section of the common
wealth, ha.ve a special train crammed
with "Class A" Western products
