Crook county farmers. Their first
shipment, which consisted of thrte
earn, arrived at Redmond last
week. These gentlemen visited
several different states before they
found stock that suited.
W. V. Foster of Reaver creek
was injured by hayrack falling
on him the first of tho week and
was brouvht to Prinevilla for med
ical treatment. V. P.Treichl of
Paulina made the trip in bis car
in quick time.
The Ladies' Annex held its r(f
ular monthly meeting last Tues
day. It was decided to bold a
New Year's reception snd a com
mittve on arrangements was ap
pointed of which Mrs. Charles
Klkins is chairman.

superintendent of the l'rineville
Land & Livestock Company, ar
rived in Slmniko from a week's
business trip to Portland, and was
en route to the ranch at Muddy
Siation. The company is to ship
ten cars of multon from this point
within a few days.
Mrs. Keller of Winnepeg and
Mrs. Davis of Toronto, Canada,
mother and sister of Mrs. John R.
Stinson. left the first of the week
for their respective homes. While
on the way to Portland Mrs. Kel
ler received word that her home
near Winnepeg was destroyed by
fire. Nothing was saved. The
lady then decided to spend the
winter in Portland.
H. H. Fletcher, of the Fletcher
Furniture Company of The Dalles,
was in l'rineville Suturilay looking
over this place as a possible loca
tion for a branch store. Mr.
Fletcher said the town looked good
to him. The character of the
buildings under construction and
completed this year gave the place
an air of stability and prosperity
that inspired permanent growth,
lie felt sure that l'rineville would
see him again in the spring.

Mrs. Orlando I'arrish of Hay
creek was a l'rineville visitor yes
terday, William Johnson of Laidlaw
came in Wednesday to extend the
tax roll.
Dr. Rosenlierg got back last
night from a professional visit to
The Dalles.
It. Allen, the harnessmaker for
12. II. Smith, has gone to the Wil
lamette to spend the holidays.
Pendleton and The Dalles will
settle, the Eastern Oregon inter
scholastic football championship
at The Dalles tomorrow. Neither
team has been defeated this year.

Thanksgiving 116 to 0.
W. II. W. Hamilton has sold
his interest in the real estate busi
ness to his partner and will locate
in California. Mr. Hamilton bag
been in business in l'rineville for
three years as surveyor and lo
cator. During that time he has
located 287 people on Crook coun
ty land and we have yet to hear
of a single person who can say he
misrepresented facts. Mr. Hamil
ton was a good man for the town
and we regret his departure. His
family will follow him in a few
days. r

of the Reception at Prineville.

ness point these days with a
splendid future, tho firm is
lucky to get in on the ground
tloor and will do nicely.
