There was no rain at Burns. J. W. Stephenson, formerly a partner of Bakowski, the photog rapher, is in Prinevillo this week settling up the affairs of his friend. The body of Bakowski has never been found. Beyond doubt he perished in Crater lake. The fire department was called out Tuesday to quench a fire in the rear of C. W. Elkina' estab lishment. Titus, a prominent farmer of Powell Butte, thinks that tec lion of Crook county, one of the best in the state for wheat and garden truck. He made a special mention in a letter to the Journal of his fine onions and excellent sweet corn. Perry Poindexter's bees ran amuck Saturday morning, and Perry was badly stung about the face so that be was in bed all day Then the bees attacked and drove the children intothehouse, scattered the chickens and sent the dog and cats scurrying for shelter.
