Covernor West, Mayor Rushlight and
Circuit Judge McGinn advocate the im
mediate development of Alaskan coal
lands by the government. The meet
ing was called by Mr. Rushlight and
a committee of citizens as a demon
stration in support of the movement
initiated by petition in this state urg
ing action by Congress..

gene, the authorities of the institu
tion closed all the straightaway drives,
forcing automobiles to traverse the
grounds by an exceedingly roundabout
course.
When the State Board of Building
Commissioners authorized the pay
ment of warrants to T. M. Barr and
Mrs. J. Bason, the board succeeded
in securing all of the land needed for
the new capitol building, with the ex
ception of one small, tract. The Harr
warrant was for $13,000 and the Ba
son warrant for $S500.
No decision as to whtther a special
session of the Legislature will be
called for the purpose of good roads

complete a course in the old Phar
macy building at O. A. C, made its
final drug mixtures and analyses in
June, for the frame structure, a land
mark on the campus for nearly a
quarter of a century, is doomed to
oblivion by the regents. They have
selected that particular spot as the
site of the new $31,000 dairy building.
