This action is the result of the visit of seven I'nion county busi ness men to Wal'awa and other Wal lowa county town 3. It is proposed to issue a booklet descriptive of the two counties. There is more unused land in Wal lowa and Cnion counties capable of producing record breaking crops than In any other two counties in Oregon. Business men are awakening to the necessity of having this land produc ing, and efforts will be made to let people in ovor-crcwded centers of population know of the opportunities that await them in this favored section. Following a picnic given by the Christian Church of this place, In the city park, the band of Holy Rollers that has been assembled at that place for the last three weeks has left the city. Teachers of the "faith" declare that with the intru sion of a band of picnickers that their sanctuary was desecrated with the spirit of the evil one and that they could no longer teach, the "word" when the divine atmosphere has been so disturbed. Own Net Traps Fisherman. Astoria. August Williams, a boat puller employed by John W. Holm Strom, fishing for the Union Fisher men's Co-Operative Packing Company, was drowned when the boat capsized near the end of the Jetty at the mouth of the Columbia River. Holm strom was saved by Captain Wick lund and the Point Adams life saving crew, but Williams became entangled In his net and died like many of the fish he bad caught 'AGGIES" TO REORGANIZE Alumni Association, Now 1200 Mem bers, to Be Increased. The executive committee, of which Ed ward Aldrich, editor of the Pendleton East Oregonian, is chairman, has pre pared a plan for more thorough and effective organization which will be submitted to the members of the as sociation for a mail vote.
