Makes Money with
Truck Garden
Otto Radloff. who runs a truck
garden on Combe Flat is an ex
ample of a man that has won a
competence by thrift and industry.
For ten years he has been supply
ing the Prineville market with
vegetables. He raises spinach,
cabbage, asparagus, radishes, let
tuce, peas, beets, onions, etc., and
finds a ready market with good
prices for all he can produce.
Some years the season is back
ward, like the present, but before
the summer is over you will forget
all about it. If it turns off warm
now Mr. Radloff will raise good
croDS of all kinds. He does not
irrigate, but uses hot beds. From
four acres of potatoes alone last
year he made $400. Mr. Radloff
would not state how much be
made a year from his garden, but
said he was well satisfied. lie
claims his dry land potatoes can
not be beaten anywhere. Mr.
Radloff owns two ranches and is
comfortably well off in this world's
goods.
