St. Louis funs are highly elated over
Hie grand form that Ed Konetchj Is
dismaying I tils season. Since the start
of the 1010 campaign he has shown
such big improvement that he Is class
ed as the equal of an first baseman In
the National league. Resides playing
a spectacular game at the Initial cor
nor. "Big Ed" is slammlug the ball all
over the lot. Last fall Manager Bres
nalian received several good offers for
his clever first sacker. but refused t
part with him. Bresnaban says that
In another year Konetchy will be with
out a peer as a first baseman. This is

Terre Haute Trotting association had
been trying to readjust its affairs that

readjustment not being effected, the
owner of forty-seven acres of what Is
commonly called the fair grounds gave
an option to the syndicate.

" The Koyal and Ancient Golf clnh of
Bt. Andrews, the court of last resort
for British golfers, has adopted a res
olution authorizing the golf committee
to add to the rules a clause which will
declare that all clubs with heads of the
mallet type are a substantial departure
from the traditional and accepted form
and make of golf clubs. This would
bar the use of the ''Schenectady put
ter," an American club, which enjoys
great popularity among the English
golfers. The decision of the Uoyal and
Ancient CJolf club is likely to lead to
considerable controversy.

Jack Sheridan, star umpire of the
American league, expects to become a
globe trotter in company with James
J. Jeffries and other celebrities.

nadian oarsmen will compete for the
Diamond sculls, which is one of tbe
feature events of this year's Henley re
gatta in England. Lou Scholcs and
James Cosgrave are already lu train
ing for the event, and now comes tbe
announcement that O'Xeil, the Hali
fax oarsman, may also compete.
O'Xell won the American amateur
sculling championship at Detroit last
year.
Fly From Paris to London,
The new prizes for aerial feats have
been announced. The combined value
of the two latest prizes is $j0,000. One
Is for a flight from Paris to London
and the other for an aerial trip In Eng
land, the results of the latter compe
tition remaining to be decided.

Another good way to combat stom
ach worms is to increase the woody or
fibrous conieut of the stomach, which
can easily be done by turning tbe
flock into a cornfield so that the sheep

ratlou couslsting of corn blades. I
have fouud this treatment very effi
cient.
I castrate my lambs when from sev
en to ten days old. provided tbe
weather is suitable. .Never allow them
to get larger tltau you possibly can
help. I cut off the end of the scrotum
and draw out the testicle, cord and
all. Tbe docking is done about tbo
same age by means of docking pinch
ers, heated red hot. so this does away
with the bleeding, i prefer a tail
docked rather short. At first I did not
dock or castrate either, hut soon saw
