Redmond Plays Here Next
Sunday at Fair Grounds.
Prineville 10, MadraS 11 in
nings, was the score of the ball at
Madras last Sunday. Getting
away for a lead in the first inning
Madras looked like a sure winner
until ths fatal ninth, when the
Prineville boys woke up and ham
mered the ball to all corners of the
lot and when the smoke had cleared
away three runs had crossed the
plate and the score was tied.
Prineville played real baseball
for the next two innings and no
chance to score while Prineville
chased two runs over in the 11th,
winning the gane.
After two pitchers had been tried
out and found wanting, Madras
trotted out a dark, horse, in the
person of Ed Brown, who proceed
ed to eerve the ball in a mysteri
ous way, and for three innings not
a P. V. tower planked his tootsies
on the ioitaJ tack. Dan Ketchom,
who pitched for Prineville, was the
big shining luminary throughout
the game. Several times he pitch
ed himself out of the danger tone
by striking out She opposing bats
man, and in the ninth inning,
with the bares loaded and none
out, he succeeded in holding them
without a run. Madras secured
hut three singles from his delivery.
Peg Belknap received great ap
plause from the feminine fans by a
sensational catch near the left field
bleachers. Warren Smith and
Bert Barnes umpired and gave uni
versal satiffaction. Redmond will
cross bats with Prineville at the
fair grounds, Sunday, May 1st and
Madras will be here the following
Sunday. Prineville Fan.
