The census begins April 15 and
must be complete - In two weeks in
cities and in thirty days , In all other
areas. ,
The enumerator will wear a badge
Inscribed "United States Census,

The law requires every ndult person
to furulsh the prescribed Information,
but also provide that It be treated
confidentially, so that no Injury can
com to any person from answering
the questions.
The President haa Issued a proc
lamation, calling on all citizen to
cooperate with the census and assur
ing them that It ha nothing to do
with taxation, army, or Jury service.
compulsory school attendance, reg
ulation of Immigration, or enforce
ment of any law, and that no one
can be Injured by answering the In
quiries.
It I of the utmost Importance that
the census of population aud agrtcul
ture In this state be complete and cor-
rect.
Therefore every person should
promptly, accurately, and completely
answer the census question asked
by the enumerators.
Information Wanted.
Bishop R. L. Paddock, Episcopal
bishop for Eastern Oregon, has written
to a member of hi flock asking for
the following questions :
1. The full name of all person
(children and adults) not baptized, who
are in any way interested in the Episco
pal church in or near Prineville.
2. The full name of every common!
cant and, if possible, where, when and
by what bishop confirmed.
3. Full names of all person baptized
(and not confirmed,) in any way Inter
ested or connected with the church.
Bishop Paddock is anxious to estab-1
lish an Episcopal mission in this rapidly
developing community and asks for the
co operation of all who are interested.
A poet card answering any of the
above questions, and addressed to Mrs.
F. J. Lively, Prineville, will be greatly
appreciated, and forwarded to Bishop
Paddock at Baker City, Oregon, at once.
The Tortland papers state that
sheared sheep are beginning to make
their appearance In the local market
and from now on will be an Important
factor in the livestock trade. A bunch
of 20 head were offered at the Portland
L'nioc Stockyards and brought 7.
They averaged 101 pounds In weight.
Sixty-five head of wool sheep, averag
ing 136 pounds, were also sold and
brought $7.50.
