last Friday at the regular meeting ot
the Ladies Aid of the Fresbytorian
church, at the home of Mre. May

honor, it being the laist meeting before
the expiration of her term as president.
In a contest called a "Kitchen Shower"
Mrs. Winnek rect iyed Bret prize and
Mrs. Balfour the " booby" prhe. A very
choice lunch of chicken pie, pickles and

home regardless of the washout on
the Columbia Southern. The roads
from The Dalles are reported to be In
a frightful coudition due to the
heavy freighting of supplies for the
railroad camps. It took these

Sunday, March 6: The subject for

Ralph L. Jordan and Mm. L. E.
Jordan, his mother, came over from
Prineville lust Sunday, and visited
here a couple of days. Mr. Jordan
is one ot the partners In the Arm of
Llvely-Jordan-Lunlus Co. of Prine
ville, the well known mercantile
house there, and Is a pleasant gentle
man to meet. Both he and his
mother were well pleased with their
visit here, and left for their home
