the gentlemen.
The box olllce and front of the
moving picture theatre has under
gone Improvements lately that make
the place very attractive. Mr. Bro
slus announces that In the spring he
will add some new features to his
entertainment and hojies to put on
a first class vaudeville , performance
In connection with the pictures.
Oscar Crane came In from River
side the lust of the wwk and brought
with hi in the hide of the big wolf
which he killed there receutly. The
sklu Is a handsome one aud shows
the brute to have been a very large
one. The hide has bceu on display
In the show window of the Llvely-Jordan-LanliiH
Company all week.

good to Mr. Henderson. He la-lieve
that the railroads headed this way

development aud wants to get In on
the ground iloor.
D. F. Stewart lost thirty or forty
feet of his mill race Sunday morning.
It broke under the Prluevllle Machine
Shop and carried away some oil and
stuff belonging to Ed Hodson, which
was recovered a short distance
below the mill. Mr. Stewart Im
mediately put a force of men at
work to build around the break
Instead of trying to patch up the
old place. Home springs at that
point would always make It unsafe.
It will take about a wwk to repair
the da'mnge.
VanMelre-Wolf Wedding.
A very pretty wed ling occurred at
the home of Rev. C. C. Habbidge
(Presbyterian Mance) on Wednesday
evening in which two of Bend' estim
able young people, Fred N. Van Metre
aud Mies Lillian Wolf were the con
tracting parties. Miss Etta Paw acted
as bridesmaid and Wilford II. Belknap
as belt man. Friends at Prioeville and
Bend unite in wishing them lion voyage
while crossing the matrimonial sea.
Mail Famine Is Over.
Prineville haa been without mail per
vice tinea last Saturday. The annual
railroad washout at this season of the
year is refrangible for the dulay.
Advices from Shai iko state that a
train (tot through to that place last
evening (Wednesday) at 8 o'clock and
we are informed by the stage company
that letter mail will reach Prineville
today about 4 p. m.

The Grange will meet next Saturday,
January 29, at 1 o'clock, at Belknap
Hall. The rituals have arrived sod

were in good condition.

to come off at Prineville January 28,
baa been postponed nntil Friday, Feb
ruary 4. Owing to the washout on the
Columbia Southern the Sherman county
debaters were not able to get here at
the time set.
Dr. snd Mrs. IT. P. Belknap went to
Madras Friday where the doctor was
sailed b Dr. Snook to SBiist in an
operation. They returned Saturday
snd report that the roads are some
thing fierce and that Madras waa liks s
miniature Venice. Freight teams can
scarcely get over the roads.
