Evangelist Lewtas gave a free
public lecture at the M. E. church
Monday and Tuesday evenings
Both lectures were very fine. The
colored slides were bought out clear
and distinct by very powerful stere-
optleon. These lectures are a treat
to all who are fortunate enough to
hear them. Mr. Lewtas will close
his labors In Prlneville this week.
From here he goes to Madras.

Mr. and Mrs. Norrls Morgan, re
cently matried, have gone to the
country tor a few days. They will
spend the winter In the Willamette
valley.
A. E" Matthews of Portland was
here last week. He" came to cruise
out large areas of timber lands,
which will be purchased by eastern
capitalists.
Floyd Rowell and his little daugh
ter leave Friday for Portland where
the child will take treatments from
Dr. Marsh for aliments resulting
from spinal meningitis.
Arthur W. Clothier was In Prlne
ville this week on bis -return Ironi a
lolig trip through southeastern Ore
gon and northern California Counties,
representing a Portland shoe house.
J)rs. Gray and Gray, the dentists,
wtio have been at Hotel Prlneville
for the past five weeks will finish
their work and leave the last of the
week. Drs. Gray have had a big
patronage here.
T. J. Godfrey, accompanied by his
wife arrived In town yesterday In a
Stanley steamer auto and will give
an acrobatic performance at the
Club ball Friday and Saturday even
lngs. Mr. Godfrey said be came to
central Oregon for the purpose of
finding a location tor the winter aud
may determine to remain here.

Workmen are tearing down the
old City Brewery building Just north
oftheOchoco bridge. Ed Hodson
has bought the property and will
erect thereon a garage and machine
shop.
R. E. Brooks, the" negro porter,
who shot B. H. Turnbull and Jack
McLaughlin, railroad men at Santko,
last June. Is on trial st The Dalles
this week, on a charge of assault
with a dangerous weapon.
The theatre public of Prlneville will
have a chance to see Godfrey, the
great gymnast Friday and Saturday
Nov. 12th and 13tb. Choice life

songs will be part of the entertainment.
