John Moore Is In from Redmond

pec ted to finish the Job In a few days

lift a string of pipe out of the hole
the tackle slipped and lettheplpln

nectlons and plug the hole full so
that It could not be removed. As
soon rs the Redmond well Is finished
Mr. Moore will go to Grlzxly to start
drilling on the oil well.

Elmer Zeck has returned to Prine-
llle from Lake county. He was the
catcher for Prlnevllle' championship

will play with the Prlnevllle team at
the fair games.
Fred S. Stanley and Jesse Starns
arrived In Prlnevllle by auto last
Sunday from Portland. Mr. Stearns
Is attorney for the D. I. & P. Com
pany In numerous cases lu the circuit
court while Sir. Mauley is Uere to
look after matters In connection
with them.
The special service for women held
last Sunday afternoon by Evangelist
Lewtasat the M. E. Churth wns
largely attended and much enjoyed
by the ladies present. The subject
of the discourse was "The Woman of
the 20th Century," and the text se
lected was from the story of Ruth
and Naomi.
Rev. Chns. Radford, pastor of the
Christian churches In Prlnevllle,
Post and Laldlnw, will preach at
Laidlaw next Sunday, the regular
services here being closed on account
of the special evangelistic meetings
at the M. E. Church. The rrine-
vllle service has been postponed
until the fifth Sunday In tltis month.
The Madras State Bank opened Its
doors for business Monday morning,
The new safe aud other equip
ments arrived Saturday evening and
were immediately placed in position.
The safe Is of latest Improved man
gauese steel and has the most recent
safety devices for the secure keeping
of funds. The bank Is at present la
cnted In the Livingston building,
which has been fitted up temporarily,
until a permanent stone structure
can be erected. J. M. Conkliu, presi
dent and general manager, has
charge of the Institution and Is act
