Will Sink Drill Deeper.
John Moore, the well driller, has
again taken charge of operations at
the Grizzly oil well and drilling was
resumed there the first of the week.
Progress has been delayed somewhat
by the loss of a drill bit in the well,
but the tool has been recovered and
casing Installed, so that caving and
its attendant difficulties will be
obviated.
The oil company intends to sink
the well to a great depth, unless some
valuable discovery Is made In the
meantime. There Is good prospect
of striking oil, but if there Is no oil to
be fouud, a good How of artesian
water would soon repay the com
pany for all its expense on the
project. The hole is down 500 feet.
The promoters are going to send It
down a thousand feet deeper at
least.
