While the matter has not yet gone further than unofficial discussion, the Idea seems to be In favor with every member of the CJUucil and the mayor. At the pres ent time the city Is paying rent enough to cover the interest of an In Testraent of about tiOOO and the city authorities are casting about for a plan by which the town could errect a building at a modest cost on their property now occupied by the old First National Bank building and the city strong house. The council held its regular monthly meeting last Tuesday evening. Not much of importance transpired, routine business occupying the attention of the meeting. On roll call Mayor Stewart, Council men Sbipp, Yancey, Cram and Adam son were present. Councilman Lippman arriving later, with Councilman Clifton absent Recorder M. D. Powell was in attendance. The minutes of the last regular meet ing and of the two special meetings at the call of the mayor, at which M. 1. Powell was elected recorder and M. R.
