Opera house packed, noth
ing like it ever seen in
Prineville before.
, Dr. Madison and staff of the
Medical Institute of Liverpool
Eng., and Crawfordsville, Indiana
branch office Portland, Oregon,
lectured to a large audience Mon
day night. The doctors are agree
able and forceful speakers and held
the audience in close attention
while they explained the theory
and usefulness of their wonderful
discoveries.
Many promises were made
which seemed utterly impossible
to believe and when the doctor in
vited those who were hard of hear
ing to come forward and be cured,
H. Odell, A. B. Roller and
Mary Marker responded to the call
and were made to hear in a whis
per in a few seconds.
The doctor then called for crip
pies on crutches and John W.
Snyder responded.
He was afficted with that giant
disease, rheumatism, for 12 years,
and he was unable to walk except
with crutches and great difficulty
and pain. He was operated on
with medicine for 20 minutes and
walked off the stage free from pain
and stiffness, followed by the won
dering crowd, while the doctor
broke his crutches. To say the
audience was astonished and wild
would be putting it mildly. The
doctor was warmly congratulated.
It seemed like a dream but it was
real. Ministers and doctors were
in the audience and they seemed
as well pleased as any.
They treat the following diseases:
Paralysis, catarrh, deafness, big"
neck, bladder and kidney diseases,
rheumatism, Bcrofula, loss of manly
vigor, female diseases, bowel com
plaint, dibility, dropsy, heart,
liver and nerve diseases, tape
worm, sore legs, all ear and eye
diseases, cancers, piles and fistula j
cured without pain, and all kinds
of chronic diseases treated.

The doctor again performed
wonderful cures, the stage bdng
filled with old and young, anxious
to be treated. , C. V. Sping and
Ella Hoover came forward and
were made to hear a whisper in a
few seconds. The Dr. called for
cripples on crutches and Henry
Grimes, who was helpless from
that giant disease, rheumatism,
and was unable to walk except
with crutches, was operated upon
with medicine for 20 minutes and
walked home free from pain and
distress, while the doctor broke his
crutches again proving new and
advanced .methods of treating
chronic disease. His office
thronged from morning till night.

Government Gives Relief
Secretary t'ortelyou made the
announcement Monday that as a
means of giving relief to the
financial situation, the treasury
would issue 150,000,000 in Panama
bonds and 100,000,000 certificates
of indebtedness or as much thereof
as may bo neccssarv. The certifi
cates will run for one year and will
boar 3 jht cent interest. Presi
dent Roosevelt has heartily en
dorsed the plan in the following
letter:
The President letter to Secre
tary Cortelyou is as follows:

your proposal. I approve the

there was a month ago, when the

$-5,000,000 in gold has been ini

I have assurance that the leaders
of Congress are considering a cur

situation, and which I believe will

Congress convenes two weeks

"What is most needed just now
is that our citizens should realize
how fundamentally sound business
conditions in this country are and
how absurd it is to permit them
selves to get into a panic and
create stringency by hoarding their
savings instead of trusting per
