AFTEB THE BALL
We were much pleased with the
showing of stock at the fair, es
pecially horses and hogs. The
exhibits taken a a whole made us
wish that lots of people who think
that Central Oregon is only a wild
and wooly waste could be here and
be shown. Think of the apples
and other "fruits, the vegetables
grown on dry land and by irriga
tion, and the stock that need not
take a back seat even at lots of
state fairs. We noted ten or a
dozen different varieties of poultry,
but the hogs, with the exception
of our entry were Poland Cfiina.
Taken a a whole we feel proud of
the exhibit that Crook county baa
made.

PAINTS & VARNISHES
An appeal to the pride
of the owner of a home
Everyone who owns a home is
anxious that that home shall make
the best appearance possible. Two
thing are necessary to produce satis
factory results in painting and var
nishing a home i
First A satisfactory color scheme.
'Second Paints, varnishes; stains
and enamels of such good quality that
they not only give the exact color
effect required, but are sufficiently
durable to keep up the attractive ap
pearance of the house in spite of the
wear and tear of living in it.
These are offered by the Sherwm-
William$ Paints and Varnishes. The
Sherwin-Williams Co. not only make
very kind of paint and varnish used
for a house and the best quality of
that kind, but they make suggestions
for the selection of colors, varnishes,
stains and enamels, so that any given
idea can be earned out, and car
ried out with the best materials.
