Lippman & Co. a f WATCH THIS SPACE FOR SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT NEXT WEEK BY Crook County Journal THURSDAY, FEB. 7, 1907. Sutxcriptioa ll.so a yar. West Side "FcU" Corrected. As mpl of the niiootatemonU that art being circulated on the west aide in order to prejudice the people over there against Prine ville, we quote a few that aeem to have gained considerable credence: It i said that Hugh O'Kane of lfcnd pays more taxes than Sid S. Stearns. We examined the tax rolls and found that Mr. O'Kane waa assessed for 121(15 and Mr. Stearns at $12,080. Mr. Stearns was assessed for $4740 on his west side property alone, which is more than double the amount of Mr. O'Kane's assessment. It is differ ent when you go to the records for your facts. It has been said that David E. Templeton pays taxes on only $1500. The tax rolls for 1906 tell a different story. Instead of $1500 Mr Templeton waa assessed at $5550, and Templeton & Son at $5300 Some difference you will say. It was reported thai I. L. Ketchum paid taxes on only $1500. The records show that he is assess ed at $3330, and so on ad infini tum. Instead of taking every Tom, Dick and Harry's word about county affairs write to the proper county officer for the facts in the case. You will then get the truth instead of 'alse assertions made to arouse evil passions. Since cut prices seem to be In order we will cut our 35c meal to 25e at the O'Nell Iieetaumnt.
