monstrance to granting the same

(or all kinds of things not hap
pening. Other things, however
have happened for which the
weather can in no way be held re
sponsible. Saturday night waa a memor
ise one in the history ol our
town. All of Redmond and tbe
urrounding country were there
nd the orators told wbat we bad
uffered at the hands of the Pnne-
ille ring. Some very damaging
evidence against tbe aforesaid
ring was given, and it does seem
a though if Western Crook coun
ty citizens are to be assessed at a
higher rate per cent of the alua-
tion of tbeir property than those
n older sections of tbe county, and
if nothing can be done about it be
fore a board ot equalization (that'a
what we call it in tbe fcaot) some
action should certainly I taken
We presume tbe new cit.zens in
this part of the county are too
honest in giving in the value of
their property to cope with the
older inhabitants. Incidentally at
the meeting our new court house
was mentioned.
We are not Quite sure whether
the dance was advertised for Satur

waa decided to take advantage of
the crowd that would be gathered
