J. Q. Dorrance, a brother of the
man that was killed, came near
losing hi life at bis sawmill during
the severe storm that swept over the
western part of Crook county a few
Weeks ago. The wiud blew with
such violence that the root of the
sawmill was torn off. Some of the
timbers of the roof were left stand
ing In a dangerous position and Mr.
Dorrauce started to brace them. A
heavy scantling fell and struck him
on the head and neck. His spine
was Injured and bis arms ' became
paralyxed, besides receiving bad cuts
on the head. His trip to Prlnevllle
Tuesday was the first time he had
been out of the house for weejts He
Is slowly regaining the use ot bis
arms. The doctors told him that
had he been struck half an luch high
er up he would have been killed Instantly.
