Carelessness came near costing Henry Falkner ol Paulina his life Sunday afternoon. He was out hunting with a companion when Faulkner happened to see that his friend's gun waa pointed toward him. He reached out his hand to push it away when it was discharged. The charge of shot passed through his right hand be tween the thumb and forefinger. The finger bone was blown out and the band was otherwise shattered. Had it not been for the fact that the hand was right over the muzzle of the gun it would have been blown all to pieces.
