anil approved.
Adjourned until July :
Judge Hradshaw must have
laughed pretty heartily when he
read in the complaint filed by
some of the tax payers in western
Crook county against the county
court contracting for a new court
house that "said county has a
good, substantial, commodious, and
convenient court house well adapt
ed, and sullicient for the transac
tion of all the busiiiei-s of the coun
ty." Judge Hradshaw, by the way,
for several years past has been one
of the vigorous kickers against the
crowded and inconvenient con
ditions every session of his court is
subjected to in Prineville. He
could probably bring a little testi
mony to bear, too, on the dispatch
with which records and other
papers are found in a court house
which has little or no provision
for the safe and systematic keep
ing of records and documents.
That point in the complaint must
have appealed to him with con
siderable force. Perhaps the Rend
tax payers thought of this before
hand and so included it that it
might bring out in strong relief
the consistency of the other alle
gations. While Rend and the Rend Bulle
tin are wearing off their teeth in a
jieach fu.z effort to do something,
liust up this that and the other
thing and otherwise make the
earth ashamed of itself for being
in existence, all on account of the
sue of the Journal.
Practically TtK) has U-en raised
for the purses and the general
committee in charge is composed
of T. Baldwin, r. J. II. Rosen
berg and iMincan Macleod. The
committee on horse races consists
of John Combs, Will Wurweiler
and J. W. Henderson. George
Summers will have the arrange
ment of the children's sports and
the program for the other sports I
for tly cebbration will be in'
charge of ('. I. Winnek and M. Ivj
Blink. The trap shoot, in which I
county sportsmen are expected to j
take part, will be in charge of B. j
Million) and Max Wur.weiler. j
Arrangements for the parade in I
which the band will take part are
being made by the committee con-j
sisliiiL' of Mrs. H. P. liclknao. Mrs.

Of the money raised for the
purses, f loll will be used in the
baseball purses and will be divid
ed as follows: First purse of $250
to the team winning the majority
of games; 150 to the second, and
"() to the third.
The balance of tins money raised
will be used in purses for other
events anil the apportionment will
be ni'ide as soon as the program
has been completed.
On the evening of the Fourth,
Athletic, hall will be the scene of
a dance and supper given by the
Ladies Annex. The members of
the latter organization will begin
soon to fit up the banquet room on
the first door and supper will be
served ther(!. The members of the
baseball team will also give a

they taxed themselves for, and
just now some one wants to get his
money out of that building and
have the school hoard sue the con

cost about $1000 more than it
should have and the pig in the

the boards of lumber. The Bulle

out satisfactorily. The Bulletin is
a very truthful sheet.
Between $50 and $75 it will cost

easy now and split the difference.
