In an aeeident which Impin'iied
few days ago on the grade west of
ih-sl-i-n board on the Powell Butte
road, a team of horses driven by
John Tengnmn and owned by one of
his neighbors were so badly crippled
that It was necessary to 'kill one of
the animals. Mr. Tengnian was
driving four horses. The lead team

while coming down the grade and
fell, the whiH'l horses running upon
them. The lenders were extricated
from the chains, harness and double
trees, but the right hind leg of each
was broken. It was found necessary
tokllloneof the animals, nnd the other
Is being aided by the use of splints.
This is the second accident Mr. Teng
nian has exiM'rienced recently. Only
a short time since a horse of his own
was strangled during the night by
the halter which the animal in some
way had got twisted too tight about
its neck.
