Petroleum has been fouud for the second time In the Haystack dis trict, the latest strike having been made on the E. A. Jenkins rauch, one mile and a half north-east of the W. Barnett property where a let'roleum well was bonded by Portland meu early last spring. Mr. Jenkins drilled a well on his ranch last February and work was discontinued at a depth of 103 feet. Not until the first of last month was any water pumjKHl from the shaft when it was found that the water studied and tasted strongly cf petroleum, besides showing plainly ou Its surface. At the. present time about 60 gallons of watef Is being puniped from the well dally, and as the supply la decreased the petroleum Indications assert themselves with greater freedom. Mr. Jenkins states thatjhe formation through which the shaft has lieen sunk Is similar to that on the Barnett, property, the drilling having lieen continued through a soft rock which slacks and crumbles when brought to the surface and exposed to the air. He intends to sink the well deeper In the hopes of striking a flow of petroleum CJI. JIIJkiJi.JiiJi.Ji; Ji.JLAJUI.VI.I.AJtJUtJl.;I.JI.Ji.jl. Too rauch care cannot be used with email children during the hot weather of the BUmmea montlie to guard against bowel troubles. As a rule it ia only nei-eesnry to give the child a dose of castor oil to correct any disorder of the bowels. Do not use any subetitue, but give the old-fashioned caBtor oil, and see that it is fresh, as rancid oil nauseates and has a tendency to gripe. If this does not check the bowels give Cham berlain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy and then a dose of castor oil, and the direas may be checked in its incipiency and all danger avaided. The castor oil and this remedy should be procured at once and kept ready for in stant use as soon as the first indication of any bowel trouble appears. This is the most 8'iccesHful treatmeut known and may be relied upon with implicit confidence even in case of cholera in fantum. For sale by D.
