Abraham Ifackleman, who dUil in Albany Novemlier 2M, wan a pioneer of Oregon having come to this state in 1S-17. lie was born in Indiana in 1S29 nnd crossed the plains in an ox team going over the Harlow route to Oregon Ci t y. 1 le 1110 veil t o A lbany In 1S47 where he resided up to the time of hie death. During the gold excitement In Cali fornia, Mr. llacklentan went to that state and succeeded In making a fortune. Then lie established a jier ntnnettt residence at Albany and laid out several additions to that city. He was prominent therein business circles and served for years as direct or of the Oregon & Pacific railroad, a road which he was instrumental In getting built. In later years he came to Crook county and started a cattle ranch which he has since maintained, siendlng his summers here and his winters at the home place In Albany. Two sons, two daughters and a widow survive him. The funeral was held from the family residence last Friday. Grip Quickly Knocked Out.
