It consisted of the big boiler, weighing 18,000 pounds, and the engine. Thomas McKwin took the contract todrive the plant at the mine, and had many tennis alsiut Whitnev early in the week getting things'in shape for hauling ., . . the boiler to Its destination. The outfit got away from the terminus 0. K., but had not heen heard from after striking the mountains of the Burnt river divide. The plant will have to lie haul ed across via Austin and thence to the South Fork and up Dixie creek. Till the Dixie Crook fork is reached but little difficulty will lie experi enced, as the mad that far waa made strong hy the hauling of the smelter machinery to the Standard. A large force of men in now en gaged constructing the road from the Present. Need to Dixie Meadows, a distance ol lour to five miles. More than two miles ol the worst part ol the road has heen graded, and work will lie hastened on the remainder. Some hauling la pos sible to the meadows over Cougar Ridge, but the heavy machinery will undoubtedly be made to await completion ol the splendid mount ain road lieing const rueted. The Inundation lor the mill is alsmi excavated, and the sawmill is manufacturing a large amount of liniWr for the concentrating mill and other buildings. Trowbridge A Son and Mr. Meeker, of Spokane.' millwrights, have the contract for erection of the plant, and Charles Thomas, representing Fairbanks, Morse A Co., will superintend in stallation of the machinurv.
