For the most part, enquirers nro home seekers and timber men, while several letters have been received from pro fessional men looking for locations. It goes to show that ninny are w-atch- ing our country and its development. and the next year should see many ot these people permanent residents ot our section. E. . He crossed the plains in 1 So J settling in Lane County, near Eugene. He was married March 1st, 1X53, to Miss Elun Mi-Cord. Ill the family wore 10 children, six of horn survive him besides the widow. In 1805 he inovtd from that pLce to Prineville, anil w-as a continuous resi lient of our city up to the time of his death. In 1808 he "tillered a stroke of paraly-is whichjinally leal 'to the complications that caused his death. He was elected treasurer of Crook county in 1000. serving one term. In his live years of affliction he was a pati nt s'l 'eie', always pleasant and jovial to those around him. He was a member of the Baptist church of this city and died in the triumph ol the faith in which he had lived. His 'death came t 7:30 p. in. on March 20th. The funeral services wen) held at the Union Qhurch Sunday. March 22, at 2 p. m. and 'vere. conducted by Hev. II. C. Clark. Iiiterrment was bad in the I. O. 0. F. ce etery.
