Pullman Ordinary Sleepers.
The tourist travel between the east aud
the Pacific coast hai reached enormous
proportions in the last (ew years, and
calls for a special class of equipment. To
meet this demand tho Pullman Co. has
issued from ita shops what it technically
call the "Pullman Ordinary Sleeper."
Theee cart appear similar to the regular
sleeper, being built on the same plan,
but not furnished with the tame elegance
They are equipped with mattreaaee.
blanket!, alieete, pillows, pillnw-caaea,
towels, comba, brushes, etc., requiring
nothingof the kind to be furnished by
the psssenger. Each car has a stove for
making coffee and tea and doing "light
housekeeping, 11 and each section can bo
fitted with an adjustable table. A uni
formed porter accompanies each car, hi
business being to make up berths, keep
the car clean, and look after the comforta
and wants cf the passengers. In each o
the, train which are dispatched daily
from Portland by the 0. R. 4 N. Cc. ia
o be found one of these "Pullman Or
dinary Sleepers." Tho car ia attached
lo the ''Chicago-Portland Special,
which goes hrough to Chicago without
change, and the one in the "Atlantic Ex
press" runs to Kansas City without
change. Passengers in this car lor Chi
cago change to a similar car at Granger.
Much of the first class travel ia being
carried in these can, the rates being
lower, and the service being nearly equal
to that in thejpalaca sleeper.
