ploded. A piece of glass struck Miu

clear to the bone. A doctor was sum
moned at once. It required several
stitches to saw up the wound, rlhe is
getting along nicely, but will not lie
able to talk much until after her chin
heals up.

tle cottontail rabbit comes forth from
the fence row and gazes on tho scene
with all the gravity of a priest at n
funeral. In the pasture the cattle
graze the succulent bunchgrass with
avidity, nnd occasionally a little sand
and gravel as a relish. Grain looks
well and some of the farms have a
large acreage of alfalfa.

MORROW) Victor Morford, the son
of A. W. and Lovimi Morfoid, was
born in Douglas county, October 29,
1801, and died Wednesday, May 21,
li)02.
He has been sick for nearly seven
month. Services were held at the
home and the interment occurred at
the 1. 0. 0. F. cemetery lust Friday,
