The tourist travel between the east ami
the Pacific coast has reached enoriinVjs
proportions in tlie last few years, mid
calls for a special class of equipment. To
incut this demand the Pullman Co. Imi
issued from Its slioi h it It technically
calls the "11111110111 Orilitary Sleeper."
These cars appear similar to the rrgular
sleeper, being built on the same plan,
but not furnished with the siime elegance
They are equipped with mattresses,
blankets, sheets, pillows, pillow. cases,
towels, combs, brushes, etc., requiting
uotliiiigof thu kind In be furnished by
the passenger. Each car has a slovefi r
milking oollee and tea and doing "light
housekeeping," and each section can he
tilted with an adjustable table. A uni
formed porter accompanies each car. Ins
business being to make up berths, keep
the car clean, aim look after the comforts
and wants if the passengers. Ll each of
the trains which are dispatched daily
from Portland by the 0. R. ft N. Co is
o be found one of these "Pullman Or
dinary Sleepers." The car i attached
to the ''Chicago .Portland Special,
which goes through to Chicago without
change, and the one in the "Atlantic Ex
