This paper reported in its last
issue that the stockmen of the Lone
Rock country were the victims of
"rustlers," a)i the Blue Mountain
Kagle. Lat week several of (hem
got together and concluded to send
K. M. Johnson, stock inspector, to
Pendleton, where it .was reported
that several head of the slock had
been sold in one of the feedyards.
Mr. Johnson immediately pro'
iwded to that city and commenced
investigations, and soon had five
head of the missing horses located,
proving beyond a douht that the
report was well founded. Tom
Kane was arrested near Pendleton,
and will be brought ta Condon to
day. Warrants were also sworn
out for the arrest of Gee, Arthur
and John Madden, and an officer
left yesterday to secure them.
These young men, who are all rest
dents of the Lone Hock country,
arc charged with the crime.
