J. G. Julian was over from his stock
ranch on Squaw creek last week and
reports stock having wintered in fine
shape.
Z. M. Brown arrived on Tuesday's
stage from Portland. He reports it
raining down there and very disagree
able weather,
Messrs. Wunweiler and Thomson
returned Saturday from a business trip
to Portland. They were accompanied
home by Mrs. Thomson and Dr. Y.
Gesner.
If our friends con spare a few dol
lars on subscription, it will be appre
ciated; not that we need money our
selves, but there are others who do, so
they tell us.

it is a fine sight to look upon.

ors over Sunday from Culver. Waltei

F. M. Loveland, of Culver, was a
business visitor iu the city the first of

The genial countenance of Uncle
Billy Quinn was noticed on the streets
of our quiet little city Monday. He
was accompanied by his nephew, Al
Thomas, of Dufur.
J. B. Cornett, a prominent stockman
of Shedd, Linn county, arrived on
Wednesday's stage. Mr. Cornett alto
owns a fine stock ranch iu Summit
prairie. Mitchell 'ews.
Last week we tinned out a lot of
posters for the rabbit exterminators of
Ryegrass, who will make a grand drive
next Sunday. It promises to be u very
exciting event if the weather is linn.
W. J. Schmidt came down from
Summit Prairie vesteidav. He in

C. B. Allen and family came iu from
Lava lust Sunday and were laying in
a load of supplies and visiting with
friends the first of the week. Mr. Al
len is one of the line chicken fanciers
of this county and has a nice lot of
blooded Plymouth Rock'.

week on account .of there being no
conveyance on the Burns end of the
stage line. He was returning from
Salem where he had charge of a case
