Sophronia Jamison was born Feb. 12, 1831, in Pike county, Missouri. Was married and with her husband crossed the plains ill 1852. ltelorn reaching Oregon her husband and child died of cholera. About IBM she was ngain ninrried to Andrew J. Telherow, of 1'ulk county, Oregon. In 1872 they came to this county. In the family there were five children. two of which, with the father have died, the lattor three years ago. Two sons and one dauKhtor survive her. She was a great aufTcrer, yet not com plaining. About a year ago she went to Portland, Reoently she sought re Jiof through a aui'Kical operation. Bhe expressed her doubts aa to its being successful, and expressed her readiness to depart this life. In early life alio became a christian and united with the M. E. church, of which she was a member at her death. Bhe died in Portland on Feb. 19. 1002, seven days after her 68th birthday, and waa.in terred in the cemetery near this oity un Feb. 24. The funeral was conduct ed by the pastor of 'he M. E. church.
