Nearly everybody known the
venerable Rev. W, R. liishop, who
lives on East Eleventh and Mill
streets. Although well up in the
70s, Mr. llishop instill young in
spirit and heart, and always ready
for a joke. Koine time ago Mr.
liishop took up the study of the
liroek language, lie has made
rapid progress in tho grammar,
and can translate readily. Mr.
liishop proposes to master Greek
so that ho can read the classics in
the original. There in no doubt
that he will accomplish his pur
pose, as ho has shown that he can
dig out a Greek root with as much
enthusiasm as an ambitious col
legian, but it is certainly remark
able for a man of Mr. Bishop's age
to undertake such a task. -Ore-gonian.
