Winter seems to have broken over

Al E. Markham's New York theatre
Co. are playing to good bouses here

P. Chit wood was over from his ranch
near Grizzly Monday and reports ev
erything in a flourishing cendition in
that part of the county. In speaking

said that he was heartily in favor of

ty on a timber inspecting tour. We

J. E. Roberts came down from his
ranch at Alkali Flat Monday and is
transacting business in the city and
visiting relatives.

home and will move in shortly. It is
situated on the banks of the Ochoco
back of Dillon's feed yard.
J. G. Poindextot came up from An
telope Monday with his sister Mrs. W
H. Parker. He reports stock doing
nicely in that section of the county
Robert Odell was over from Vale
last week and reports everything in a
flourishing condition in that put of
the state. He was formerly a resident
of this county.

the enterprising citizens of Sulci's

J. H. Gray was down from his ranch
on Crooked river hist week and re
ports his stock doing excellently this
winter. Mr. Gray ia a breeder of tine
hogs and Hereford cattle.

of the Webfoot side of the mountains.
Drs, Rosenberg and Belknap per
formed an operation oil Henry Cram
last Friday for strangulated hernia,
which was very satisfactory and he is
now resting easy and every indication
points to speedy recovery.
Ed Kutchcr was up from his farm
in Kutcher precinct last Friday and
reports slock looking line. He in
forms the Journal that the Agency
Plains have nearly all been locaLcd by
homesteaders and that the soil is the
finest in the county.

The Hon. gentleman has a legislative
bee buzzing around bis ears and may
make a run fur the nomination for
that place on the democratic ticket in
Wheeler county.
One can now cross the Ochoco with

a proposition to the city council for
the lighting of the town.
