Joseph Whitfield is suffering from an attactof acute asthma. Judge Feo and Mr. Crowe, of Pendleton, who have been touring Crook, Lake and Klamath coun ties, were called home by the ser ious illness of the Judge's son. John Atkinson lately brought over from the Willamette valley thirty or forty head of young cattle. May field Bnthers, who are buy ing cattlo, report Deschutes beef in good condition better than any they have seen.
