Get a hold with both hands. Tlien pulL Bury your iiatchet. Drop your tomahawk. Hide your little hammer. When a stranger drops in, jolly him. Tell him this is the greatest town on earth. It is. Don't get mulish. Don't roast. Just jolly, All men like to be jollied always. So jolly.1 get popular. It's dead easy. Help yourself along. Push your friends with you. Soon you'll have a whole procession. Be a good fellow. No man helped himself by knocking other people down. No man ever got rich trying to make jieople believe that he was the only good man on earth. You can't climb the ladder of fame by step ping on other peoples corns. They're their corns. Not yours. And they're tender. Keep off the corns. All men are not alike. Once in awhile you may find one who is very much alike. But some are different. You're not the only one. If you don't like their style let'em alone. Don't knock. Walk right in. And rcike yourself look pleas ant. You'll get used to it. There's no end of fun in minding your own business. Better have others stuck on you than et stuck on yourself. George Washington's state coach has been presented by Augustus Frey to the Ladies' AssocLaion of the Union, the New York vice president of the association being Mrs. Townsend. The coach, ac cording to the history given by Mr. Frey, was used by General and Mrs. Washington on a journey which they made from Mount Vernon to Savannah and return. It was purcliased at the Philadel phia Centennial in 1876 by Ben jamin Richardson, a brother of the Richardson who won notoriety by building his "spite house." Richardson drove in the coach through the streets of Philadelphia. At his death it became the property of relatives, and later passed into the possession of Mr. Frey. The upholstery of the vehicle is the worse for time, but otherwise it is in fairly good condition. It will be shipped to Mount Vernon on inondav. Don't Teuacea Spit and Sunk. One of the most helpful books on nerve weakness ever issued is that entitled '"Nerve Waste," by Dr. Sawyer, of San Francisco, now in its fifth thousand. This work of an experienced and reputable phy sician is in agreeable contrast to the vast sum of false teaching which prevails on this interesting subject. It abounds in carefully considered and practical advice, and has the two great merits of wisdom and sincerity. It is indorsed by both the relig ous and secular press. The Chicago Advance says: "A perusal of the book and the application of its principles will -put health, hope and heart into thousands of lives that are now suffering through nervous impairment." The book is $1.00, by mail, post- OTICE FOIt K'BLICATION. LiKoOmci atThi Dam., Or May 11, 1901.
