From for one moment imngi have no more cases for . 4 lieve we will, but every ono who ia auspected is closely watched and whenever any symptoms no differ ence how slight they may bo are quarantined. l-iince our last publication we have had just seven cases aa fol- lowa : Mrs. Geo. Hummers, John (ieU, Halph Poindexler, Perry Poindexter, Pr. Kosenberg, Kobert McMurlery and Mr. Ivan Turner, all of whom are getting along nicely with toe exception of Airs. Turner who has a complication o( diseases and is a serious case. All the old cases are convalescing, sev eral being now almost ready to be let out aa entirely well. Pr. Hyde, tho county physician, viaitod Guy Reese at Lava who haa the smallpox and found it a had case of the confluent type with the eufferer dangerously ill. Everybody in that neighborhood have been vaccinated and a strict quarantine kept upon the Sly fam ily who live near the Klamath county lino and were exposed to Keese. At Hay creek Pr. Hyde reports Gene Bradford, a man who iust arrived from Shaniko, as be ing down with tho disease. He was immediately quarantined as well as two others who came in contact with him. Pr. Hyde has been untiring in bis efforts to stop the disease going to every portion of the county riding day and night, as well aa Pr. Hosenberg, city phy sician, who is now down witti it, to gether wilh the health board and every citizen and business man in Prineville and all our other physi cians. Our citizens both of Tiineville and the entire country has or is be ing vaccinated, and in the major ity of cases il haa taken well. Thia together wilh every other pre caution known is being taken and the public at large can rest aasured that all that human ingenuity can iavenl is being dona to prevent its further spread. Again we will say we are able lo cops with the disease and an unceasing warfare will be kept up until the scourge is entirely exterminated, lying and malicious reports notwithstanding to the eontrary. Married. On last Tuesday evening at the M. E. parsonage by Kev. II. C. Clark, Kgbert L. Bradford and May K. Van Ornam. We are glad to see Mr. Bradford desert the state of single blessedness, and join the army of married bliss. The Re view extend congratulations to the young couple and may their future bo ono of contentment and happi ness. Died. On lust Friday afternoon John O. Cyrus passed to that great un known from whioh bourne no traveler ever returns. Mr. Cyrus was a man well and widely known and was an ex emplary citizen in every respect. He had boon a sufferer for some time with that terrible and surely fatal disensu, consumption. Dur ing his sickness ho uore tho pains that racked his system with Christian patience and forbearance, and was ready to meet his Maker when th call came. Mr. Cyrus was born in March, 1872, near Scio, Linn county. He came to Crook county in 1SS2 and in 1 SOU came to Prineville whore he engaged in business and con tinued to live up to th time of his death. In 1S'.7 ho married Miss lilvira Pillon, who together with a bright eyed Utile boy, of some two months old, survives him. Mr. Cyrus leaves bshind liim a wife, child, father, mother, four brothers and two sisters, all of whom live in this county, as well as a large circle of ncquaintansos to mourn his departure. Funeral services were held at tha residence by Kcvs. 0. V. Triplott and H. C. Clark, after which the body was taken in charge of by tho Maocabees, of which he was'an honored meuioer, and was laid away to rest in the Masonic cemetery. The beautiful ceremonies of tho Maccsbeo order being conducted at the grave. Mr. Cyrus is no more, but his memory will bo cheiiehed by his many " frionils.
