It is a long distance across the con- other states, it would be em barrassing to have Oregon's ex hibits still in hiding on the open ing day. At Omaha, Orpgon was the only sute whose display was in place and complete at the open ing, this was only accomplished by the commissioners working most of the night as well as the entire day for three weeks. The Eastern papers have al ready given so many compliment ary notices relative to Oregon's proposed sxhibit that the com mission.-rs are enthusiastic in their ambition to surpass ail p-evious expectations. It wilt have the hearty support of all the Eastern States, as well as the Middle West. CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOBER3. Anniversary Exercise Held land. Me. in Port. ( Portland, Me., Feb. 2. Today witnessed the crowning event of the four days' meeting meeting of the Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor, in observance of the 20th anniversary of the organization of the hrat society,. when a b onze memorial tablet was unveiled in Wi! listen Church, the birthplace of the movement.. Rev. Dr. Francis E. Clark, founder of the society, was present. Sev eral organized the original society in the parsonage of AVillistanv Church, were in attendance. Th memorial ceremony was held in the open air. The address of acceptance irk. behalf of the local society was made by Rev. Smith Raker,, pastor of the church. The as semblage then crowded into the : little church, filling it to the doors, and there the ceremonies, were continued. There was music by the Williston choir, and brief addresses by many prominent Christian Endeavor workers. Rev ; F. Hatch, of Monson, Mass.,. dflivered an address.
