The en tire group was su b seq u en t ly moved from F reem an Field, Seym our, Ind., w here th e inci dent occurred, to Fort Knox. The 101 officers involved in the incident believed th a t th e ir actions w ere in accordance w ith last y e a r’s W ar D ep’t order fo r bidding th e restriction of cam p recreation facilities to any one race or color. The dicision in th e case, how ever, did not decide th e issue at th e F reem an Field Club, for the men w ere rem oved from th a t post. There has also been a change in the rem oval of th eir form er com m anding officer, Col. Robert Selway, and the giving of th a t position to Col. Benjam in O. Davis, jr. Lt. Terry, freed of the disobe dience charge, was found guilty of “offering violence to a m ilitary police officer” and faces a $150 fine as his only penalty. The three officers courtm artial- ed at F ort K nox, K entucky, on charges of disobeying a superior officer w hen they insisted on th e ir right to en ter a “w h ite” officers’ club, w ere cleared last w eek by an all-N egro tribunal.
