Let you be not reminded I would like to mention the fact that the Squadron Quartet was winner, by a walk away, of the recent “ Battle of Spirituals’’ held in Vanport City Recreation Hall recently. We of P A A B are proud of our Squadron Quartet. Thanksgiving Day November 23 Thanksgiving Day, usually cele brated on Nov. 30, has been moved by Governor Snell to Nov. 23 this year. As there are no national holi days in United States, each state has jurisdiction over the holidays it observes. Kentucky for instance does not observe Thanksgiving Day. I f you care to delve farther into this subject, we refer you t« page 182 of the World’s Almanac. Oregon’s observation of Thanks giving Day follows an old Pilgrim custom, and the laws of this state will be based on it; that the fourth Thursday of each November be known as Thanksgiving Day.
