Because I see volunteering
as a way of investing in my
community and because of
the things I get to do. For
instance, I get to help allocate
federal funds for emergency
food and emergency shelter. I
get to oversee that emergency
fire services and emergency
medical services are available
to the people of Keizer. I get
to help give scholarships to
outstanding young people,
which gives me hope for the
future.
Others could be volunteering
instead of me, but I get to do it.

What does volunteering
do for you?
It makes me feel like I am
making a difference in my
community.
How would you get
others to volunteer in
their community?
By inviting someone to
volunteer with me, by asking
someone about their interests
and offering suggestions about
where they might be able to
volunteer, and by serving as an
example as a volunteer.
